Public Safety
Rensselaer's Department of Public Safety strives to maintain a
safe and secure campus. Twenty-four hours a day, every day of the
year, our officers are on duty fulfilling a broad range of
law-enforcement duties in a manner best described as reasonable
and consistent with the needs of the community. But, law
enforcement by itself is not enough!
Rensselaer Safety Committee
The Rensselaer Safety Committee is an Institute-wide committee
established to review environmental, occupational, and life
safety issues at Rensselaer. The committee provides guidance to
the President and the President’s Cabinet on these issues.

Environmental Health & Safety
The Department of Environmental Health & Safety promotes the
safety and health of all campus faculty, staff, students, and
visitors and encourages the use of systems and practices that
protect the environment and foster community relationships.
National Safety Council
A nonprofit, nongovernmental, international public service
organization dedicated to improving the safety, health and
environmental well-being of all people.
