The Walter Eppenstein ’52 Graduate Teaching Assistant Award (1991): Established by friends and colleagues of Professor Eppenstein, professor emeritus of Physics, to honor his contributions to education at
Rensselaer
. It is awarded to one or two graduate students for outstanding contribution to our teaching program.
Founders Award of Excellence: The Founders Award of Excellence was established in 1994 to honor students who embody qualities of creativity, discovery, leadership, and the values of pride and responsibility at Rensselaer. The award consists of a special certificate, recognition by faculty, staff, and peers at the Honors Convocation ceremony, and a $100 cash prize. More information.
Fulbright Program: The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide. The Hillard B. Huntington Award (1976): The prize was established by friends and former students of the late Hillard B. Huntington, professor emeritus of Physics. It is awarded at Commencement to an outstanding graduate student in Physics.
Lemelson-Rensselaer Student Prize (Seniors and Graduate Students):
The $30,000 Student Prize is awarded to a Rensselaer senior or graduate student who has created or improved a product or process, applied a technology in a new way, redesigned a system or in other ways demonstrated remarkable inventiveness. Award winners gain invaluable exposure to the science, business and investment communities through national press around this award. More information.
