Postdoctoral Research Associate
Future Chips Constellation

The Department of Physics, Applied Physics and Astronomy invites applications for the position of a postdoctoral research associate in device fabrication of group-III nitride semiconductors in RPI's Future Chips Constellation. The candidate is expected to develop and lead device fabrication processes, to perform original and creative research for new device concepts in solid-state lighting and laser diode. The candidate will integrate her/his work in a highly collaborative team of materials growth, characterization, and device fabrication in a fully equipped fab-line dedicated to these materials within the newly formed Future Chips Constellation at RPI.

Required Qualifications
The position requires a recently completed PhD in the area of group-III nitride semiconductor device and preferably a minimum of 3 years experience in process integration and fabrication tools for AlGaInN alloys and light emitting devices. High motivation, practical talent, reliable record keeping, effective communication, goal-oriented teamwork, and experience in pragmatic experiment design are required. The appointment is initially for one year and can be renewed. Further information can be found at www.rpi.edu/~wetzel.

Applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of research experience and interests, list of publications, and a contact list of 3 references in electronic form to the attention of Dr. Christian Wetzel, Wellfleet Career Development Constellation Professor, Future Chips; Associate Professor of Physics, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY 12180 at wetzel@ieee.org. Please reference "PostdocFab" in the subject line.
